Leonard
B. Kancher, MD, received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University
in Baton Rouge and his medical degree from Louisiana State University School
of Medicine in Shreveport, where he has the distinction of being one of
just 32 students in the first graduating class of the school. Upon completion
of his internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas he served as
captain in the United States Air Force. Dr. Kancher completed his family
practice residency at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport
and became Board Certified in Family Practice in 1979. He then completed
his internal medicine residency at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans
and became Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 1981, when he entered
private practice. He is the Medical Director of The Center for Longevity
and Wellness, and enjoys all aspects of internal medicine with particular
interest in preventative healthcare and chronic disease management.
Dr. Kancher is on the Medical Staff of East Jefferson General Hospital,
having served as Chief-of-Staff in 1987. He is Board Chairman of Louisiana
Health Care Review, a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine,
and holds membership in the American College of Physicians, the American
Academy of Physician Executives, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging
Medicine. |
